Collection: "Acan" Lords

Acan Lord corals, scientifically known as Micromussa lordhowensis (formerly Acanthastrea lordhowensis), are popular large polyp stony (LPS) corals admired for their vibrant, multi-colored polyps and relatively compact growth form. These corals are considered hardy and beginner-friendly, making them a favorite among reef aquarists. 

Lords thrive under low to moderate lighting and low to moderate water flow, which helps them extend their fleshy polyps without risking damage. Ideal aquarium parameters include a stable temperature of 76–80°F (24–27°C), salinity at 1.025 specific gravity, pH between 8.1–8.4, alkalinity at 8–12 dKH, calcium at 400–450 ppm, and magnesium at 1250–1350 ppm.

While they obtain some nutrition from their symbiotic zooxanthellae, Acan Lords benefit greatly from regular feedings of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, or specialized LPS pellets, which can enhance growth and coloration. They should be placed in shaded or partially lit areas of the tank with ample space between colonies to prevent aggression. With consistent care and stable water chemistry, Acan Lord corals can flourish and become a colorful, eye-catching feature in any reef aquarium.
