Metallic green with yellow dot at center of the polyps. Tank conditioned frags. Almost WYSIWYG. The frag you will receive is well healed, and almost identical to the Goniopora pictured.
Goniopora corals, often called flowerpot corals, are large polyp stony (LPS) corals prized for their dense clusters of long, daisy-like polyps that create beautiful, flowing movement in reef aquariums.
Goniopora thrive in moderate lighting and moderate, indirect water flow that allows their delicate polyps to sway gently without being blasted. Ideal aquarium parameters include a stable temperature of 76–80°F (24–27°C), salinity at 1.025 specific gravity, pH between 8.1–8.4, alkalinity of 8–12 dKH, calcium at 420–460 ppm, and magnesium between 1300–1400 ppm.
Though they are photosynthetic, Goniopora corals benefit significantly from regular feedings of fine particulate foods such as phytoplankton, reef roids, or other microplankton blends, which promote polyp extension, growth, and coloration. Placement should allow room for full expansion and avoid contact with aggressive neighbors. With consistent water quality, targeted feeding, and gentle flow, Goniopora corals can thrive and become a captivating, motion-filled centerpiece in a mature reef aquarium.
